I’m Dr. Upender Sunkari, currently serving as a Senior Technical Officer at IIT Hyderabad in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering. My research focuses on Complex Concentrated Alloys (CCAs), cutting-edge materials renowned for their outstanding mechanical properties and phase stability. Over the years, I’ve delved into developing and optimizing these alloys, with a particular emphasis on improving their strength-ductility balance through innovative thermo-mechanical processes.
Before joining IIT Hyderabad, I gained extensive industry experience working with leading automotive OEMs like Mahindra & Mahindra and Force Motors, as well as in the refrigeration sector with Danfoss. This blend of industrial and academic experience fuels my passion for pushing the frontiers of materials science research, especially in microstructural design and the high-performance applications of CCAs.
I am also available to offer technical consultation to industries, focusing on materials selection for new product development, reverse engineering, failure analysis, innovation & technology explorations projects and providing specialized in-house trainings for design engineers on metallurgical engineering aspects.
